This lot comprises a nine drawer apothecary-style chest of drawers, constructed from stained wood with visible natural grain and knots. The front frame is finished in black paint, housing nine drawers in a three-by-three configuration. The drawer fronts are decorated with a large, multi-tonal hand-painted circular motif that spans the face of the chest. The design features a central black and white checkerboard pattern, surrounded by dense fields of red and white floral motifs on a navy blue ground, and bands of stylised scrolling vines on a cream background. The corner sections are finished with green panels featuring red and white floral sprays. Each drawer is fitted with an antiqued metal ring pull on a decorative circular backplate. The top and side panels are finished with a medium brown stain.

Condition report:
A horizontal split is visible in the wood at the upper front corner of the right-hand side panel (photo 6). The right-hand side panel exhibits several vertical drip stains and marks in the brown finish (photo 2). There is a chip and loss of wood at the bottom rear corner of the right-hand side panel (photo 5). General minor scuffs and surface wear consistent with handling are visible.
